The COVID-19 pandemic has plunged the tourism sector. Tourism industries have ceased operations in line with travel restrictions imposed by most countries. With various considerations, sector must be reopened. Kemenparekraf said ecotourism potential to survive post-COVID period. East Java a variety of destinations become leading destination. On other hand, caused changes tourist behavior. Government policies that prioritize ecotourism; advantages Java's attractions; as well shift tourists' behavior who tend locations close home, had an impact on changing patterns Java. This research was conducted qualitative approach case study reveal tour Java, especially cities Surabaya, Tuban, Batu, Malang City, Regency, and Banyuwangi which contributed 50% Java’s domestic visits. two phases, where first stage (literature studies) guides next phase data form interviews stakeholders. Our findings are majority tourists conduct tours regency/city they live, not main choice tourists, local governments need further develop natural attractions attractions, existing yet optimized.
